The Veterans Housing Initiative seeks to help veterans and their families find the housing assistance they need, whether that means a chance at home ownership or help with home repairs and accessibility modifications. Through the Veterans Housing Initiative, we are also able to provide our community’s veterans with access and referrals to additional wrap-around services like food security, health and wellness resources, and financial counseling.
We successfully launched our Veterans Housing initiative with the completion of a 14-unit pocket neighborhood, The Umatilla Veterans Village, in 2018. Since then, our program has grown to include new construction, preservation, and critical home repairs for veterans throughout Lake and Sumter Counties.
