About Jessica and Her Family:
The mission of Habitat for Humanity is not a secret. In fact, we do everything we can to promote it every chance we get! We firmly believe that through home ownership we’re able to promote strength, stability, and self-reliance, all of which are key to building a solid future for our homeowners and their families. With the support of our community, as well as the applicants’ families and friends, we’re able to turn a dream into a reality for our homeowners.
Our most recent addition to the Home Ownership Program is Jessica Jackson, a Florida native who’s lived in Fruitland Park her whole life. As many of our homeowners are, she was introduced to the Habitat program through an existing Habitat homeowner, one of her father’s coworkers who had purchased a home with us in the past. This type of word-of-mouth is something we strive for regularly, as it shows us that our current homeowners are so excited with their new home they want others to be able to experience it too!
When she received word that she had been accepted into the Home Ownership Program, Jessica said she couldn’t find enough words to express her gratitude. With her 2-year old son, Noah, becoming more mobile and fearless every day, she’s excited to have a home not just to call her own, but to watch Noah grow up in. Now that he has his own room, it will be even easier for his space to grow along with him. As part of a sometimes-chaotic but always joy-filled family, this new chapter for Jessica will help her achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance that Habitat identifies as key aspects for a healthy family and community.
