Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter kicked off its annual Women Build initiative with a party April 2. Every spring, Women Build participants advocate, fundraise and volunteer to provide access to affordable housing solutions for those who need it. Part of a national initiative to engage women in the effort to provide safe and decent homes for families in need of affordable housing, the local program will have this year’s participants helping to raise the walls for a new triplex in Habitat Lake Sumter’s first 55+ community, the Cottages at Heritage Grove. “We are incredibly grateful to have AgeWave Solutions, Inc. return as the presenting sponsor for Women Build,” says Danielle Stroud, the local Habitat for Humanity CEO. “Women Build is an opportunity for anyone in our community to come together, give bac, and be part of something meaningful. We invite everyone to join us in building homes and hope for local families.” Visit www.habitatls.org/women-build.
