Lake County Schools partners with Habitat for Humanity to build two new homes

Two Lake County high schools are partnering with Habitat for Humanity to give students hands-on construction experience while helping build new homes in their communities.

The Eustis High School Construction Academy is kicking off its home-building project at 8 a.m. Thursday on South Bay Street in Eustis, at the Habitat for Humanity parking lot.

Students will work alongside Habitat for Humanity as they take part in the construction of a new home, gaining real-world experience in the building trades.

The Leesburg High School Construction Academy will launch its project at 8 a.m. on Parker Street.

Together, the two school construction academies will partner with Habitat for Humanity to build two new homes.

The projects are designed to provide students with valuable skills and experience while contributing to affordable housing efforts in Lake County.
