Meet Elea: Habitat’s New Homeowner

This January, we are thrilled to introduce Elea, one of Habitat Lake-Sumter’s newest homeowners.

Elea works at Aegis Medical Group as a Patient Management Nurse, where she has dedicated the past nine years to helping patients. She started her career as a CNA and phlebotomist, later becoming a medical assistant before completing her education to become a registered nurse.

Elea is the proud mom of four kids—three girls and one boy—whose busy schedules of games and practices keep the family on the move. They were previously living in an affordable housing apartment, where limited space and the neighborhood made daily life a challenge. Elea is excited that her new Habitat home will provide a safe, stable environment where her kids can feel comfortable and secure.

She first heard about Habitat through social media and also remembers her mom looking into Habitat when she was a child. “My experience with Habitat has been great,” Elea says. “I was most surprised by the encouragement and having someone help walk me through the process.”

Looking ahead, Elea is eager to create her own yard and space, celebrate holidays, and start new family traditions in her home. “Home means having a place my kids and I can feel safe with security,” she shares. One memory she is especially excited to make is enjoying Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners with her family.

For future Habitat families, Elea offers this advice: “Don’t give up!”

We are proud to welcome Elea and her family to their forever home, and we can’t wait to see the memories they make here in Lake and Sumter Counties.
