Our Women Build Kick-Off Party is happening on April 2 from 6:00 – 7:30 PM at The Brick & Barrel Public House in Leesburg, FL. We can’t wait to gather with the amazing women who make this event so special. April 2 also marks the official start of fundraising for our $100,000 Women Build goal, helping make safe, affordable homeownership possible for a local family in our community.
We are also incredibly grateful to once again have AgeWave Solutions Inc. as our presenting sponsor for Women Build this year. Their continued support helps make this event possible, and they even created the plans for the triplex our Women Builders will be helping construct this year.
What is Women Build?
Women Build is a national initiative designed to engage women in the effort to provide safe and decent homes for families in need of affordable housing. It’s both a fundraising and build event that transforms lives in our community. Women Build recruits, educates, and inspires women to build and advocate for simple, decent, and affordable housing — all while learning new skills and connecting with other incredible women.
Women Build volunteers make incredible things happen — last year, they helped raise $85,000 and contributed hundreds of hours to support a local family’s path to homeownership. This year, we’re excited to see what we can accomplish together!
Whether you’ve volunteered on a build site before or have never picked up a hammer, Women Build is about coming together, learning something new, and supporting one another along the way. No construction experience is needed — just a willingness to show up and be part of something meaningful.
