Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter has received a grant of $150,000 from Publix Super Markets Charities in support of the organization’s Preservation & Repair program. In addition, Publix team members rolled up their sleeves and volunteered on May 27 at a Habitat construction site in Lady Lake. The Preservation & Repair program was launched in 2015 to address the increasing need for affordable housing solutions in the community. While many families already own homes, the cost of essential repairs often exceeds their financial means. The program ensures homeowners can remain in the homes they already own by addressing critical repairs such as roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC and accessibility improvements.
