We’re kicking off construction next month with two of our Youth Construction Academy partner schools – South Lake High School and Eustis High School –  and we’d love to see you there!

Join us in Groveland or Eustis as we celebrate our amazing Youth Construction Academy students and partners. We’d love to see you there!

You’re invited to join us for our upcoming ceremonies as we kick off new homes and new beginnings!

We’re celebrating with students from South Lake High School‘s Youth Construction Academy as they begin building a brand-new Habitat home!
When: Monday, November 3 from 8:00 a.m.- 9:00 a.m.

We’re also kicking off construction with the students from Eustis High School‘s Youth Construction Academy.
When: Friday, November 7 from 8:00 a.m.- 9:00 a.m.

The Youth Construction Academy is a hands-on program that gives high schoolers real-world experience in the construction trades while helping build homes for local families. Students from The Villages Charter School, Eustis High School, South Lake High School, Wildwood Middle High School, and Leesburg High School will all be part of this year’s builds.

New classes of students will spend time during the school week working side by side with Habitat’s construction staff and professional tradesmen on live construction projects, providing hands-on learning at our dedicated build sites.

Construction will run from September through May, and in the spring, students and teachers will take part in a heartfelt dedication ceremony—handing over the keys to a local family who has completed Habitat’s Home Ownership program. By the end of the school year, students will graduate OSHA certified and career-ready, and will have helped provide new homeownership opportunities in our community.

We’re proud to celebrate and continue meaningful partnerships with our sponsors: RoMac Building Supply will once again support Leesburg High School, while Eustis High School’s home build is made possible thanks to First National Bank of Mount Dora and Vann Gannaway Chevrolet, as the students will be building a triplex at The Cottages at Heritage Grove. In Bushnell, RoMac Distribution and Citizens First Bank will partner with The Villages Charter School to complete two additional homes. Wildwood Middle High School students will be completing construction on a house in Oxford, and South Lake High School will be building a home in Groveland.

Come out, meet the students, snap a few photos, and see the incredible impact your support is making right here in Lake and Sumter Counties. Whether you’ve volunteered, donated, or simply believe in what we’re building—we’d love to see you there!
