Looking for a Way to Make a Difference? AmeriCorps Is Calling!

Sep 4, 2026 | Newsletter

What if your next opportunity wasn’t just a job—but a chance to bring people together, build stronger communities and make a difference right here at home?

Habitat Lake-Sumter is looking for an AmeriCorps Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team for a full-time service term of approximately 10½ months.

In this role, you’ll spend your time connecting with local residents, volunteers, organizations, community partners and elected officials. You’ll help plan community improvement projects, recruit volunteers, support Habitat’s education programs and help bring people together through events and outreach activities across Lake and Sumter counties.

And you won’t just be gaining experience—you’ll be building it. This is an opportunity to develop hands-on skills in community outreach, volunteer engagement, event coordination and community development while supporting Habitat’s mission of helping local families build strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.

As a full-time AmeriCorps member, you’ll receive a $20,400 living allowance, a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award upon successful completion of service, health care benefits and other benefits.

If you’re organized, enjoy working with people, love being involved in your community and are looking for an opportunity to grow professionally while making a tangible impact, we’d love to hear from you!
