Women Build 2026 Recap

Jun 4, 2026 | Newsletter

We’re just a few months into Women Build 2026, and the momentum has been incredible. From raising the first walls of our future triplex to the generosity flowing in from across Lake and Sumter Counties, this year’s campaign is shaping up to be one of our most impactful yet.

So far, over $77,000 has been raised by a passionate group of women leaders—and the numbers keep growing!

Let’s take a look back at some of the unforgettable moments we’ve shared so far:

Women Build Kick-Off Party

We had such a wonderful time kicking off Women Build 2026 with all of you! It was great seeing familiar faces, meeting new Women Builders, and hearing why so many women are passionate about supporting affordable home ownership in our community.

A special thank you to AgeWave Solutions for joining us and sharing their continued support for Women Build. We are so grateful to have partners who believe so strongly in this mission.

Wall Raising Celebration

There’s nothing quite like seeing the first walls go up!

Our Women Build Wall Raising Celebration was an incredible morning filled with excitement, hard hats, and lots of smiles. Volunteers, sponsors, Women Builders, and community members came together to celebrate the official start of construction on this year’s Women Build triplex.

One of our favorite traditions is recognizing our top fundraisers and welcoming new members into the Sisterhood of the Pink Hard Hats. This special group is made up of women who have raised $1,500 or more for Women Build. A pink hard hat represents more than fundraising—it’s a symbol of dedication, leadership, and a commitment to helping local families achieve affordable homeownership.

We also celebrated this year’s top fundraisers and are so thankful for every person who has donated, volunteered, shared our mission, or cheered us on along the way.

A Huge Thank You to AgeWave Solutions!

Women Build wouldn’t be the same without community partners like Agewave Solutions.

Their support goes far beyond sponsorship. They have shown up for this project in so many ways, from fundraising and event participation to volunteering on the build site. Watching their team get involved and help bring these homes to life has been truly inspiring.

We are incredibly grateful for their partnership and commitment to helping families in Lake and Sumter Counties.

Volunteers on the Women Build Site

We’ve already welcomed some amazing volunteer groups to the build site this year!

A big thank you to the Golden Triangle Girls, the BuildHers team, First National Bank of Mount Dora and the PG45 team from HBA of Lake-Sumter and many others for spending a morning with us. Their teams worked alongside Habitat staff and volunteers to help move construction forward, and we are so grateful for their hard work.

There’s always something exciting happening on a Habitat build site, and we love seeing local businesses get involved and make a difference.

Want to Volunteer?

We’ve had so much fun building, fundraising, and celebrating together—and we’re just getting started.

Construction on the Women Build triplex will continue throughout the summer and fall, and we’d love to have you join us. Whether you’re an experienced builder or have never picked up a hammer before, there’s a place for you on our build site.
