June 24th: Disaster Preparedness Class
Mark your calendars! On June 24th, Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter is hosting a free Disaster & Hurricane Preparedness Class at the Leesburg Resource Center, along with CC Insurance Agency and L.A.S.E.R. (Lake Support and Emergency Recovery, Inc.).
With hurricane season officially underway as of June 1st, it’s more important than ever to make sure you and your loved ones are prepared. Waiting until a storm is approaching can leave you scrambling to find supplies, secure your home, or plan an evacuation route. Now is the time to take proactive steps toward protecting your home, your family, and your peace of mind.
This one-night class is designed to help residents better understand the risks of hurricane season and how to effectively prepare before, during, and after a storm. Whether you’re a new homeowner, long-time Florida resident, or just looking to refresh your knowledge, this session will provide practical tips and resources for weathering the season safely.
Find out more about what to do before the storm, what items are essential to be prepared, and what to look out for on your insurance.
