Hundreds attended a tribute to American veterans May 21 at ViaPort in Leesburg. The event, sponsored by AMVETS Post 2006, drew a number of dignitaries, including County Commissioners Jimmy Conner and Timothy Sullivan, who is a retired brigadier general; Congressman Daniel Webster; Lake County Sheriff Gary Borders; Miss Florida MaryKatherine Fechtel; State Representative Larry Metz; Lake County Property Appraiser Carey Baker, and many others.
