Programs and Services
Homeownership
Our Homeownership Program offers opportunity and guidance to buying a home with an affordable mortgage. We sell affordable, site-built homes to individuals and families who demonstrate a need for housing, are willing to partner with us, and have the ability to sustain a monthly mortgage payment.
Preservation & Repair
The Preservation & Repair program works to preserve the existing affordable housing inventory, improve accessibility and safety of the homes through critical home repairs, and revitalize neighborhoods and community spaces.
Veterans Housing Initiative
Through the Veterans Housing Initiative, you can help us provide homes, community, and hope to U.S. Veterans, military service members, and their families.
Youth Construction Academy
Through partnerships with local schools, students start their construction curriculum in-class, developing the competencies essential to the construction industry, including the skills and knowledge related to safety practices, proper use of hand and power tools, plan reading, and basic rough carpentry and framing.
Education
Our education program includes workshops and classes that focus on personal finance, home maintenance, civic engagement, and other essential life skills.
Whether you’re planning to apply to one of Habitat Lake-Sumter’s housing programs, or simply taking next steps to better prepare you for the future, all of our classes are free and open to the public.
