Meet a Habitat Homeowner: MyEisha Corbin
We are so happy to introduce MyEshia Corbin as a new homeowner with Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter.
MyEshia is a devoted mom to her two daughters, Na’Sya and Zyomi, and works as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Cypress Care Center. Everything she does is driven by one goal: creating a better, more stable future for her girls.
Before partnering with Habitat, MyEshia and her family lived in a two-bedroom apartment in Wildwood. While they were grateful to have a place to call home, limited space made everyday life challenging. Like many parents, MyEshia dreamed of more room, better organization, and a fresh start — a home where her daughters could truly thrive.
She first learned about Habitat for Humanity through a family member, and once she began the process, things moved quickly. While the journey was fast-paced and sometimes stressful, MyEshia credits the encouragement of Habitat staff, including Veronica, and her personal support system for helping her stay the course. What stood out to her most was how caring and supportive everyone at Habitat Lake-Sumter was from the very beginning.
Today, MyEshia is officially a homeowner, and she describes the feeling as both exciting and deeply humbling. One of the things she’s most looking forward to is transforming her yard into a space where her girls can run, play, and simply enjoy being kids. Inside the home, she’s already been busy making it her own — from hanging up televisions on move-in day to planning a housewarming celebration with family and friends.
Na’Sya and Zyomi are especially excited about their bedrooms. One is decorated with Minnie Mouse, the other with Bluey, and both girls can’t wait to spend time playing outside in their new space. Their excitement, MyEshia says, is a daily reminder that the hard work was worth it.
During her Habitat journey, MyEshia also participated in the Jingle Bell Build-Off, where community members volunteered on her behalf and helped her earn an incredible 89 sweat equity hours in a single day. It’s a moment she will never forget — and one that showed her just how strong and supportive this community truly is.
To MyEshia, home means stability, security, and peace of mind. She hopes this home will reduce stress for her family and open doors to greater educational opportunities for her daughters. Most importantly, it provides a foundation — a place to celebrate holidays, create memories, and build a future together.
Her message to future Habitat families is simple but powerful: never give up and keep pushing. She promises — it’s worth it in the end.
