As Lake and Sumter residents continue to navigate a challenging local real estate market — recently highlighted in a Daily Commercial story about rising home prices in Lake County — Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter is stepping up to connect the community with much-needed assistance.
According to a recent media release, the local Hometown Habitat affiliate will host a free Housing Resource Fair on Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army of Lake & Sumter County Gym (2605 South St. Leesburg).
The event aims to serve a wide range of residents, whether they are renting, looking to buy their first home, already own property, or are simply searching for a safe place to land. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with housing professionals to learn about:
- Rental assistance programs
- Homebuyer education
- Fair housing protections
- Tenants’ rights
