Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter recently shared a recap of its Women Build 2026 program, and so far, “over $77,000 has been raised by a passionate group of women leaders – and the numbers keep growing,” according to the organization. “From raising the first walls of our future triplex to the generosity flowing in from across Lake and Sumter Counties, this year’s campaign is shaping up to be one of our most impactful yet.” The program is one of several offered locally to create affordable housing for those unable to purchase homes on their own, and Women Build “activates, educates and inspires women to build and advocate for simple, decent and affordable housing,” according to Habitat for Humanity. Volunteers are always welcomed, and donations are requested as Habitat works toward its $100,000 goal for this year’s program. Visit www.habitatls.org/women-build.
