Women Build 2018

A major part of Habitat for Humanity International’s “Women Build” program is the National Women Build Week. Through a partnership with Lowe’s, this event strives to underscore the home ownership challenges faced by women by engaging women in the solution. The program invites women to devote at least one day to help families build strength, stability and independence through the construction of new homes. All funds raised will go towards the projects that are worked on during the event, meaning your dollars raised will help cause an immediate effect.

National Women Build Week is held annually on the week leading up to Mother’s Day, and this year will be May 5 – 13th. Lowe’s generously donates nearly $2 million dollars as well as volunteer support. With your help, we’ll be able to impact several local families, through both new home construction as well as our Preservation and Repair efforts. If you’d like to get involved, here’s how!

Sign Up as an Individual or as a Team

You can participate as an individual or you can assemble a team. All volunteers must sign up in advance –
if you want to build with others, encourage them to sign-up now, as space is limited. No experience necessary!

Utilize your smarts, skills and savvy to spread the word about Women Build. Ask people to open their hearts and their wallets for your campaign. Your friends and family can help you make this difference. And don’t worry, we’re always here to help if you need it!
Prizes will be awarded to participants based on their donations collected over the minimum requested amount of $250. For more information on how to handle the sometimes daunting task of the ask, access your Women Build Toolkit for some guidance.
