Veterans Village in Umatilla ready for first homeowners

UMATILLA – Just six months after breaking ground, the Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter Veterans Village is nearly ready for the first homeowners.

The first three houses have already sold, and Kent Adcock, Habitat president and innovative CEO, said residents should be moving in by June. A retired military couple purchased the first home, which is designed for active, retired or widowed spouses of military veterans who fall within the economic threshold.
